NLP - NEURO LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING
The Technology of Experience.

Mention the name Anthony Robbins and most people will know of him (think the movie Shallow Hal). Mention NLP and you'll generally draw a blank stare or a raised eyebrow!.

Anthony Robbins found a way to tell the world about Neuro Linguistic Programming without ever really mentioning it. After attending a Practitioner Training in Neuro Linguistic Programming, Tony was able to persue his passion to make a difference. He artfully translated the many insights from NLP and others he modeled, and delivered them in a meaningful way that people could relate their lives to. Sample his free audio CD and E-Book here

That was in the nineties. Since then, through using Tony's seminars, books, and CD's, hundreds of thousands of people have overcome difficulty and hardship and so too have millions of others, by learning and using the technology of NLP. These people are all doing something different from the ordinary and that difference is getting these people big results fast!

So what is NLP?

Often described as the language of the mind, N.L.P. (Neuro Linguistic Programming) begins with an attitude of curiosity. It was originally developed through a desire to map out excellence. Dr.John Grinder and Dr.Richard Bandler wanted to find out what made the difference between a successful person a the top of their field (say a therapist or sales person), and others who weren’t getting such exceptional success, yet had basically similar training or experience.

Mapping the natural communication skills and abilities of these successful people revealed external, observable patterns in how they said and did what they did, to achieve success. Further observation exposed the essential internal thinking processes behind the apparent words and behaviors being used.

This mapping process created 'chunks' of behavioral information. It was found that these could be transferred or learned, thereby allowing others to acheive similar success. This became known as "modeling", an approach which itself could be taught. Over time, many more insightful keys were uncovered by modeling successful people across a variety different fields.

Today as a result, we have available much more knowledgable about how we think, believe, react and behave. The modeling process has left behind many different 'chunks' which we know as the techniques of NLP and over time, even more will be discovered. While the core N.L.P. 'code' of curiosity stretches into evermore uncharted realms of the human condition, the techniques currently at our disposal allows each of us the opportunity to change our thinking in ways not previously within our grasp. We can therfore, more easily than ever, change the world we each (individually) perceive as 'real'.

N.L.P. could be 'nut-shelled' as a blend of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychology but it is so much more than that. What we do in our minds, creates our behaviour! Our “Mind / Body” is totally connected! One whole, integrated unit. Try "The lemon test" and you'll get the picture.

As Dr.Bruce Lipton suggests in his "Biology of Belief", every emotion (which always starts with a thought, conscious or unconscious) affects the biology of every cell of the body instantly! It's a good thing we can now learn about our thoughts in greater detail and awareness than ever before. Self empowerment is taking on a new dimension of understanding

How is NLP used?

As Dr. Richard Bandler has said recently, N.L.P. is about freedom.

NLP is used to help us all get where we want to go with more joy, excitement and peace. Whether you're a a person in a company, an athelete or a busy stay at home mother, we are each moving toward something which we use as a stepping stone, so we can continue even further toward something else of greater value.

Wherever there are people, NLP can be applied. What makes it so diverse is that it works the way we do - it accommodates the way we have pictures in our mind, the tone of voice we use within us, the way our eyes move when we think, the gestures we make with our body when we communicate and so much more.

Some examples of where NLP is being used now include:

• Business• Sport
• Counselling/Therapy• Agriculture
• Breakthrough coaching • Medicine
• Education• Science
• Sales• Design
• Social• Health

How do you 'do' NLP?

Firstly, NLP has a set of base assumptions, 'rules' or guidelines around which the 'doing' of NLP is framed. With these in mind, and together with the intention to learn new useful skills which will become “tools of success”, you need:

• An attitude of curiosity.

• Know what you want to acheive clearly and specifically (outcomes).

• Be flexible & willing to change what you're doing.

• Develop a sharp awareness to know what's working (acuity).

The skills of Neuro Linguistic Programming will empower you to achieve your goals more readily in all areas of your life. When you understand your 'Model of the World' and you have the flexibility to 'step into', and understand someone else’s, you can change the way you think and behave, in order to assist yourself and others to get “win–win” success!

The easy-to-learn techniques shown to you during the Training will add choice about how you can easily and successfully change to more useful thinking programs and produce the results you really want.
